We love these colourful pink and oxidised silver earrings, designed by the talented contemporary jeweller Emily Kidson.
Emily enjoys playing with colour and shape, creating playful pieces that excite the wearer.ย The colour comes from her use of Formica and material used in furniture, the good thing about Formica is that the colour does not fade.
These pink and oxidised silver earrings are perfect gift for a loved one who loves colourful style.
The Formica consists of pink laminate at the front, grey laminate at the back with walnut in the middle. Other elements of the earring are made from recycled sterling silver that has a stripy texture and then oxidised to create the blackened silver look.
Due to the way in which these earrings have been handcrafted, there will always be a slight variation in the pattern.
The earrings measure approximately: (H) 55mm x (W) 19mm x (D) 4mm.
Every piece is made meticulously by hand in her London Studio based in Cockpit Arts. She uses an array of techniques including silver inlay, traditional jewellery methods and more. You will notice that Emilyโs work is finished to perfection, every element is thought through inviting the wearer to explore the piece front to back.
Emily is taking part in our Spring Showcase until May 31st along with contemporary jewellers Rosita Bonita and Sally Collins. We invite you all to see the jewellers work in person at our Clifton Gallery.
