Clifton Rocks Terms & Conditions

All our staff are trained jewellers and as a small team we all work closely on every piece. We all take great pride in the work we do and aim to give you the best possible experience at Clifton Rocks.

Returns/Exchange

Bespoke, commissioned and any jewellery that has been customised is non returnable and non refundable. Unwanted designer jewellery bought ‘off the shelf’ must be returned unworn and with proof of receipt within 30 days for exchange, credit or refund.

Earrings cannot be returned due to hygiene laws. This is in addition to your statutory rights.

Commissions

Commissions take 10-12 weeks to complete from the date you pay the deposit. If you have a tight deadline, please talk to our staff and we will discuss what can be achieved. More complex pieces can take longer.

A 50% deposit is required to start the project and once this has been paid, the design is locked in. Any alterations and adjustments to the design may incur additional charges. We will accommodate 1 CAD alteration, free of charge, after that, all amendments will be quoted and charged. Once your stone has been chosen and it has been set into your finished piece, we cannot change the stone without incurring additional costs.

Pricing

Our quotes last for 2 weeks to stay in line with the current metal prices, after this time we will need to re quote to match the daily price.

Guarantee and Check-up Service

Engagement rings are guaranteed for 3 years from manufacturers’ faults, providing you attend your check-ups. This will be 6 months after the final payment has been made and then every year after that. We can check a piece any time in-between these dates – if you are ever concerned about your jewellery, please just pop in.

Certain pieces will be exempt from the guarantee and will be discussed at time of purchase. This would include rings using soft stones as the main stone, for example; opals, pearls, emeralds and delicate semi-precious stones. Any damage that has resulted from wear and tear or accidental damage, will not be covered by the guarantee. An assessment and quote will be given before carrying out any repair work on these pieces.

Returning Customers

If your engagement ring is made by us, we offer 10% off on wedding rings with our inhouse designs. 5% off for designer made wedding bands. This does not apply to remodelling and resizing.

Valuations and Insurance

Clifton Rocks supplies a digital receipt with specifications on pieces made by ourselves at time of purchase. Please be aware that we are not a registered valuer so please check with your insurance if the information we provide will be adequate for valuation. For re-modelled jewellery where we haven’t supplied the materials, we would advise using our suggested registered valuer – please ask for details. For insurance on specific pieces of jewellery, we recommend using our insurance provider – THMarch. If you quote our reference number AC534T they will like any claims back to us, should anything happen. Please ask our members of staff for details.

Resizing & Repairs

It is the customers responsibility to confirm the correct finger-size at time of purchase, with the help of our trained staff. The first re-size on an engagement, made at Clifton Rocks will be free of charge within the first 6 months. After this, re-sizing will be charged and a quote will be given prior to this. Titanium rings cannot be re-sized. Resizing designer rings bought through Clifton Rocks will be quoted and charged accordingly. We do not take on repairs or re-sizing of work that we haven’t made.

Diamonds

Clifton rocks only uses reputable diamond suppliers that purchase their diamonds from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict diamonds, in compliance with United Nations resolution. The supplier guarantees that their diamonds are conflict-free, based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees.

Care

Jewellery, regardless of its quality and craftsmanship, will inevitably show signs of wear and tear over time. The constant exposure to elements such as moisture, air, skin oils and various chemicals can lead to tarnishing, corrosion and diminishing lustre of stones. Daily activities contribute to the gradual scratching and dulling of gemstones and metals. Additionally, prongs and clasps can be damaged, posing a risk of losing precious stones. Regular maintenance is advised to preserve the beauty and integrity of your jewellery over the years. We recommend taking jewellery off when playing sports, gardening and showering. It is especially important to remove jewellery when swimming and cleaning with bleach products. When storing jewellery, keep it away from direct sunlight, damp or excessive heat. Clifton Rocks offers a free check-up service for your jewellery – please bring it in if you have any concerns, and one of our trained jewellers will assess and advise you on appropriate action.

GDPR

We intend to keep your details so that we can provide you with a quote, a receipt, follow up email and to hold information of your order for future reference. Your details are kept securely. We will never pass your details on to a third party. A copy of our privacy policy is available on our website. Often, we will take a photo of your jewellery for our records, website and social media. Please let us know if you do not wish your piece to be shared. By paying your deposit you are agreeing to our terms and conditions and the details of your order including stone specs and rings sizes etc.

Thank you for choosing us to make your piece.
