Marcin Zaremski studied at the academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1969-1974) – faculty of design. At the same time he was gaining knowledge of jewellers’ skills at his parent’s art studio. In 1974, after graduating his studies he made his decision not to become an interior designer and become dependent on other people and the materials which were hardly available at that time. He instead decided to become the jewellery designer, where the “only obstacle” was to cope with the family tradition.
His parents, Jadwiga and Jerzy Zaremski, were the forerunners and the creators of the Polish modern jewellery art.
Marcin Zaremski wanted to exist in certain detachment from his parents’ success and created the Polish haute couture in the jewellery sector.
Marcin Zaremski is genuinely interested in the wearers of contemporary jewellery, especially women.
He strives to understand their willingness to be conspicuous, to manifest their personalities externally, to reveal their peculiar preferences and passions. The role he has allotted his jewellery is quite clear: he wants his jewellery pieces to harmonize with, or stand in contrast to, clothing; he wants them to transform in accordance with fashions and the current artistic research. These two factors combined give his jewellery its voguish quality.
From the multitude of trends prevailing in art and fashions, Marcin Zaremski chooses those that are the most in keeping with his personal predilections.
