Based in rural Somerset England, Julia Thompson embraces living on the wild side allowing her idyllic surroundings to inspire much of her contemporary jewellery design. Unusual, full of narrative and ethical, Julia uses traditional hand fabrication techniques to create her designs working in recycled sterling silver and Fairtrade Gold. Adornments range from small silver trinkets, to large bespoke statement pieces of timeless natural elegance which incorporate a unique selection of hand-picked quartz gemstones presented in attractive branded eco packaging.
Julia is a member of The Somerset Guild of Craftsmen, a Fairtrade Registered jeweller, and in 2012 was awarded the British craft & design Selected Silver Award in Jewellery & Precious Metals. She trained at Wimbledon School of Art London and is a Designer Maker Honours graduate in Three Dimensional Design. Further to this Julia studied the art of silver jewellery design in Mexico, before a part time apprenticeship with a renowned Hatton Garden trained Silversmith whilst she set up her jewellery business and brand.
